Do You Know What Foods You Should Eat For Better Health
I have to admit I had a very poor diet, The only vegetables or fruit I would
eat was the tomato sauce that was on a pizza. Since I decided to lose weight
and lead a healthy lifestyle I did a little research on what foods are good
for you. I found the information a little surprising and what is strange is
I actually like this food.
Cantaloupe
Our first food that is good for you is cantaloupe. It is loaded with vitamin
A and vitamin C. Just one slice of this fruit a day gives you almost enough
of these vitamins for your daily diet.
Soy Milk
Soy milk is a good source for calcium, vitamins, and protein. When you make
the switch you will also notice that soy milk has no artery clogging fat in
it. It might cost a little more but it is well worth it.
Oranges
Oranges are a good source of fiber. Adding an orange as a snack has many
advantages. The taste great and they are also loaded with vitamin C.
Beans
Adding a few beans to your salad is also a great idea. They don't cost much
(which I like since I am cheap) and they are loaded with protein, fiber, and
they are low in fat. You can add beans to just about any meal. You can throw
some beans in a soup or salad. The best beans are pinto, black, kidney, and
garbanzo.
Watermelon
Good for a quick snack in the summer to cool yourself off. Watermelon is
also loaded with vitamin C.
Whole grain or whole wheat bread
High in fiber and it is loaded with all sorts of vitamins. I use to eat
white bread but once I rediscovered whole wheat bread that is all that is in
my house.
Broccoli
Ok There is a food on this list I can't stand but since this food is good
for you I included it on this list. Broccoli is loaded with folic acids and
carotenoids. It is also a good source for vitamin C.
Kale or Spinach
Eating Kale is one of the best foods going. Just like it's cousin spinach it
taste great when you steam them. I substitute kale for lettuce on my
sandwiches.
Blueberries
Once a week I have a blueberry bran muffin. It is a nice change of pace for
breakfast with an orange juice. They make a great source of antioxidants
which help out our bodies big time.
Sweet Potatoes
We all love sweet potatoes but we don't eat them often enough. This is one
of the best vegetables that you can eat. Loads of potassium and fiber.
Wouldn't you like a slice of sweet potato pie right about now.
